I decided to move the whole thing to Blogger http://yaz3d.blogspot.com/.
This one will be updated for a while and that most probably deleted.
I just lost intrest in it 😉
And another two
And a doggy
A little more if the bear
Now the bear.
And another 40 minutes to give him some hoofs to run on.
40 min playing with an idea.
I’m done with sculpting for now, there are ~1.2m tris at the moment and things start to get a little choppy. Not that I can’t work with that, I just figured that retopo plus multires will do the job much smoother and I will have low poly mesh ready for baking normals. As far as it goes for the model I made back legs thinner and kept on working on the muscles (humanoid like muscles makes the creep factor go all the way up), I didn’t do much when it comes to the head, I think it’s good as it is. Or maybe I’ll skip the retopo and just go on with sculpt.
I’m trying to get a grip on dyntopo modeling, and I can say it’s much easier than old sculpting system (classic one still has it’s advantages tho). I started sculpting with base mesh made with skin modifier (it’s really cool when it comes to working without crystallized concept).
Maybe not breathtaking, but it’s good enough. I’m done with it 🙂
Added backgroud, more complexed shaders and different lighting.
Nope, not done.
We have a winner! Although this is not exactly the version that will appear on the splash screen.
Color mixing on the display shader.
I had to remodel render layers and compositing to get rid of yellowish tint given by the screen.
With and w/o color correction.
Ok now, I have versions with screen turned on and off and fixes from below.
New decals. Still some things to be done. I have to unwrap the TV and work on texturing and decals.
Actually here’s another one
Next stage covering composition and dozens of tiny fixes.
Almost finished modeling, I made some quick materials to test the scene and I fell in love with this setup. It’s probably going to be too dark anyway.
Started on this one
The conference is over, I met lots of really cool blender freaks, hopefully shared some of my knowledge, learned a thing or two and got to work on Fujitsu monster workstations. In other words, everything went as expected.
I was aked for the presentation files numerous times, so here it is: YABC presentation PL.
And recently uploaded video:
It’s another Chris Kuhn’s model I textured. Modeling and renders by Chris. Shared on Blendswap
We have a Blender conference coming up in Gdańsk on June 1st and 2nd. http://polskikursblendera.pl/yabc2013/en/
I am really thrilled since a lot of awesome specialists will be there, and I get the honor of doing a panel on UV and texturing magic.
